Yin and Yang: Does Biological Diversity Translate to Mental Diversity?

All of this fish givin’ me the creeps,

The dead eyes make me give out a few shrieks.

Pirahna just look like crazy little freaks,

Razor sharp teeth leave a mean streak.

Zoologists deal with it every day,

They ain’t fazed they are gonna stay.

One fish, two fish, blue fish on the bay,

Gotta catch ‘em zoologists want the pay.

But it’s not about the money,

It’s not even a little bit funny.

We’re tryna add to the Encyclopedia of Life,

Please go communicate that to your wife.

Zoologists know how to make a lot of noise,

Those ethanol jars contain all their fancy toys.

They full grown men you’re a bunch of boys,

Put ‘em in a pressure situation they show major poise.

They do their research accurately, meticulously,

Hours and hours in the lab workin’ perfectly.

Gotta lot of information to share,

Fish in their jars just chillin tryna stare.

All of this fish givin’ me the creeps,

The dead eyes make me give out a few shrieks.

Pirahna just look like freaks,

Razor sharp teeth leave a mean streak.

You can’t spell Swagel without the swag,

Zoologists know why the dog’s tail wags.

It’s a broad spectrum they’ve got to traverse,

And that interdisciplinary emphasis is clear in this verse.

Some people think it’s just plain simple,

Workin in zoology you prolly ain’t got a pimple.

On the contrary there’s a lot to accomplish,

Especially when you work to classify all those fish.

        Taxonomy’s a big deal,

But it doesn’t solely define zoologists’ zeal,

They gotta work in things like histology too,

Lookin at tissues to determine what’s wrong with you.

All of this fish givin’ me the creeps,

The dead eyes make me give out a few shrieks.

Pirahna just look like freaks,

Razor sharp teeth leave a mean streak.
